How to Attach the Wig

TRIM THE LACE

DSCF4791.jpgBefore you start your lace wig application, you will notice that your wig has been supplied with excess lace around the perimeter. This will need to be trimmed off.

Be extremely careful, as you will need to trim the lace as close to the hairline as possible without cutting any of the wig hair.

If you are in-experienced at this, just cut the lace back a little bit at a time until you are comfortable.

WEAR A WIG CAP

It's not necessary, however many people prefer to wear a 100% Nylon Wig cap.

DSCF4792.jpgPREPARING YOUR SCALP

Use lace release alcohol to clean the hairline of oils or left over adhesive. Apply the scalp protector around the hairline to prevent any irritation form hair or glue and to give a longer lasting stick.

APPLYING THE ADHESIVE

If you are going to use a wig glue, you will need to apply a very very thin layer onto your skin, then wait approx. 10 - 15 minutes for the glue to become "tacky". At this point you can add another thin layer of glue, you will need to wait another 10 -15 minutes for it to become sticky or "tacky". The alternative to glue is adhesive tape. Position the tape as close to the hairline as possible and then take off the top cover as shown.

APPLYING THE LACE WIG

Using hair clips, clip all of the hair up on your wig to make sure it will not get stuck to the adhesive you have just applied to your skin. Put on your wig and press the hairline lace firmly onto the adhesive. At this point you should wait a few more minutes for the wig glue to set up completely before styling. You can tell when the glue is finished drying as it will not be sticky or "tacky" and your wig will be firmly in place.

At this point you may need to clean up some excess adhesive on your skin. Using our gentle citrus solvent, or 99.9% Medical Grade alcohol and a Q-tip or cotton swab, apply the sovent to the cotton then gently rub the area you want to cleanup.

Be careful not to get to close to your hairline, if you do, you may need to reapply the glue to that area, or start over.
You are now ready to style your real hair lace wig!

ADHESIVE  RECOMMENDATIONS

Ultra-hold glue is the strongest holding glue on the market. This glue sticks to the lace and to your hairline, so it must be cleaned thoroughly when the lace wig is taken off. If the glue is left on the unit and applied back onto the hairline, it will leave a white unnatural look and will not stick for as long.

We highly recommend the Air Flex tape as an alternative to the glue. The tape is not left on the lace wig, only on the hairline, which is removed in one strip. The clean-up process is simple. Slightly wipe the lace surface and use cotton wool in circular motions to remove residue from the hairline. Rubbing can cause irritation so be gentle.

The length of time the adhesive will work will vary between one and six weeks due to different skin types. Best results are usually achieved with naturally dry skin types as opposed to oily skin types.
